Established in 2002 in Miami, Florida...
the music festival was created to bring together Urban Latin music talent and audiences that represent the existing blend of second and third generation multi-cultural Latino communities in the U.S. The inaugural festival first took place at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. The festival achieved its initial goal to bridge the gap of culture and music by creating a platform that represented the diverse interests and musical appeals of 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation Latinos globally, especially major metropolitan areas in the U.S.
SOULFRITO The Urban Latin Music Festival has been the premier launch pad for emerging and established artists, as well as brands looking to connect with the multicultural millennial audience that now forms today’s mainstream market. International blue-chip corporations, including General Motors (Pontiac, Chevrolet), Toyota (Scion), Jack Daniels, Anheuser Busch, Coca Cola, Heineken, Best Buy and United Airlines, each formed strategic partnerships with the festival in the past in an effort to capture the country’s fastest growing demographic.
SOULFRITO made an early contribution towards the start of the careers of artists such as Pitbull, Wisin Y Yandel, Romeo Santos (Aventura) to name a few. Other performers have included: Nas, Don Omar, Busta Rhymes, Juicy J, City High, Gangstarr, Victor Manuelle, La India, Hector "El Torito" Acosta, Angie Martinez, Lala Anthony, Fatman Scoop, Adrienne Bailon, Julissa Bermudez, Tony Touch, Nina Sky, Frankie J, Kat Deluna, Don Chezina and several others.
